The summer holiday evenings between the 19th and 23rd July will be filled with concerts presenting programmes of the Festival threes - two Polish ensembles and one foreign guest. The concerts will be coupled with a number of workshops and extra activities for children.
FESTIVAL WORKSHOPS
We will begin every day of the Festival week with interesting activities for children. We have prepared a series of workshops during which the participants will be originally exposed to the cultures of the countries and regions represented at this year’s Festival. You are welcome to attend them at 3:00-4:30 p.m. and 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the Riflemen’s Park.

FUN WITH MR BRODA
Between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m., the Amphitheatre premises will be a place of FUN WITH MR BRODA, i.e. festival activities arranged for children by the Festival host Józef Broda.
FIRST-NIGHT FESTIVAL CONCERTS
Every day at 7:00 p.m. first-night festival concerts will be shown on the Amphitheatre screen and the Festival website. These will be programmes by two Polish ensembles and video greetings from foreign comrade ensembles.

Did you know that picking cones for fuel used to be one of children’s duties? That is what we will see in the programme presented by the DOLINA SŁOMKI ensemble from Stronie. The EŁK ensemble will present Masurian dances and ditties on the shore of the beautiful lake that it is named after. All this will be complemented by the music and dance exoticism of India.

ST. GLORIA’S SCHOOL CULTURAL TROUPE / Lagos, Nigeria
MALI JURGOWIANIE will show a performance full of Spiš melodies and dances in preparation for potato lifting, and the celebrations after the potatoes have been picked from the fields. Silesian melodies and dances will be presented by VLADISLAVIA in a programme entitled “Daddy’s pigeon.” There will be miners, as well as their rabbits and pigeons, which the children were tasked with looking after, when dad was working a shift at the mine. Then we will move to West Africa, to the Niger River. There is an arts school the pupils of which have prepared a programme specially for the Festival.

In front of a Beskid cottage children from Istebna gather to play. They plait flower garlands, make rag dolls, and engage in a multitude of physical games and dances that children used to fill their limited free time with. We will have an opportunity to see dances and games from south-eastern Poland thanks to the little artists from the ROZTOCZE ensemble, who will present melodies from the Lublin and Tomaszów Lubelski districts. KITKA will expose us to the world of culture of traditional Macedonia.

We are going to meet MAŁOLIPNICANIE in a mountain clearing, where the children will be playing while grazing geese. KOCIERZEWIACY, who come from the Łowicz district, will also present a shepherdly scene. This time cows and sheep will be the animals entrusted to the children’s care. From Kocierzew we will move further north, to Lithuania, where melodies are beautiful and dances graceful.
