How strange. For so many years, every time we met in the Market Square by the Town Hall, it was clear that this was the beginning – that everything was just getting started – that the children would be given the keys to the town, and the clinking of one key against another would mark the start of the comradeship festivities. Today, they are already comrades. It is not the beginning, but the very end. A crowning event.

The Good Lord gave us five senses, and organised them so wisely that if we are deficient in one, the others are given greater power. The five senses are like five gifts that allow us to take in the beauty of this world. Of course, these gifts are also there to help us spot impending danger in good time – out of the corner of your eye, from a slight movement of the air in your ear, or even from a scent – so that you can realise something is wrong.

It is hard to imagine a better day to bring back the motto that has actuated the Festival of the Children of Mountains since its very inception.

On Friday, 24 July, the BALLET FOLKLÓRICO XOCHIPITZAHUATL ensemble from Mexico and the MAŁY OWCOK group from Jabłonka performed in the courtyard of the SOKÓŁ Małopolska Culture Centre. The colourful show brought the morning courtyard presentations to a grand conclusion.
