Programme of the 33rd FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS

From 19 to 25 July, Nowy Sącz will host the 33rd edition of the International Festival of Children’s Folk Ensembles FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF THE MOUNTAINS. We invite you to one of the most colourful and recognisable folklore festivals in Poland, which we have been organising since 1992 as the SOKÓŁ Małopolska Cultural Centre – a cultural institution of the Małopolska Voivodeship.

We bid farewell to our friend of the Festival – Marian Koral

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Marian Koral, co founder of the Koral company, Honorary Citizen of Nowy Sącz, and above all, a great friend of the International Festival of Children's Regional Ensembles, FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS.

Meaningful visits to festival participants in Małopolska

At the beginning of March, we visited children's ensembles representing four ethnographically different mountain regions during this year's FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS.

The Festival in numbers

7 days
Children spend 7 days at the Festival, during which they live together, give concerts, go on trips, light bonfires and visit the homes of their Polish friends.
400 participants
Every year, about 400 children aged 7 to 14 participate in the event.
387 groups
356 ensembles from all over the world have performed in 30 previous editions of the festival.
71 countries
As many as 68 different cultures have presented themselves at the Festival since 1992.
