The “World Music” concert of the musical bands was held for the second time as part of the FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS. On the evening of Friday 25 July, most of the musical bands taking part in this year’s Festival played a concert.
The concert was emceed by the four Festival stage announcers: Hanka Rybka, Joanna Łapka, Patryk Rutkowski and Sławomir Bryniak. During the event, the members of the band from Moldova were presented with special awards by director Andrzej Zarych (for the violinist) and director Piotr Gąsienica (for all the musicians). Lemko songs were performed by: Sylwia Pazgan (solo), and the ladies from the MYSTKOWIANIE ensemble. The soiree ended with a musical band-project composed of musicians from various parts of the Sącz region.
A musical note was flying through Nowy Sącz
Lonely and morose.
She was looking for a circle of sisterly notes
And where a sound of some kind could be encountered.
Then all of a sudden it seemed to her
That someone was calling out about music?
It was four stage announcers calling out
In the courtyard of SOKÓŁ MCC.
So the note started dancing,
and calling: “More! More!”
It flew up, it flew down
Among the rare raindrops.
On the Mystków mountain, and then down
Straight to the Moldovan band.
Then up again to delightfully
Merge into a Lemko song.
Then a little lower, where
The Podhale from the USA plays.
And as if down the musical ridge
She flew down to Tanzania.
And as she was flying through a Lemko song
towards the glow,
Down she was invited by ZAWATERNIK,
And up by the snare drum from the Basque Country.
The violin from Jurków, the violin from Siedlec
passed the note from string to string,
She was played by Lipnica Mała,
And finally Crete said to her “Fly on!”
And the note flew on.
And now the little note, so happy,
Is flying like crazy.
And everywhere she is crying out that there is
no better thing than the “World Music” concert.
