Meet the hosts of this year's FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN OF THE MOUNTAINS.
Life is like a bird, life is like a river, like goes by quickly,
Time is a giver, time is a taker, love never ends…
I am, I have, I will give…
Józef Broda
A brilliant multi-instrumentalist, maker of folk instruments, a charismatic teacher, a retired schoolmaster. He learnt traditional music from the most celebrated masters in his region. He plays mainly wind instruments – a trembita, bagpipes, an ocarina, pipes, mountain shepherd pipes and a violin. He can delightfully play a leaf. As a soloist and a session musician, he frequently participates in various music projects involving professional artists. His interests by far transcend folk music. He is an artist, animator and traditional culture propagator of unequalled stature. He runs music and rite workshops as a theatre for children, and classes for university students and teachers, instructing participants how to listen intently to nature. He has collected his thoughts in a book entitled To Seize the Moment.
He has been associated with the FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS in Nowy Sącz since its first edition, as the concert director and the chief creator of the unique atmosphere.
