MALI WIYRCHOWIANIE

Edition 2024
We are being visited by centuries of history coming from the Spiš-Gubałówka Foothills, where Bukowina Tatrzańska nestles. This year marks exactly 400 years since the name of this beautiful village in the Podhale region was first recorded. Back then it was only a hamlet, and it is known to have certainly existed as early as the 16th century.
Since 1928 the history has included the famous Folk House, one of the largest wooden buildings in the country. A few years had passed again when Ms Michalina Ćwiżewicz initiated a children’s folk group here. And then there came the war, and the ensemble waited for the 1950s and for Ms Paulina Sztokfisz to be re-established.

MALI WIYRCHOWIANIE, the undoubted heirs to this heritage, date their own history back to 1978, when they adopted their name. So the half-century is fast approaching. A period filled with performances, competitions, prizes, festivals... Dancing krzesany and zbójnicki, several generations of children have tested the durability of stages in Poland and abroad. They participated in the FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS in 2000 and 2017. Currently, the leaders of the ensemble are Agnieszka and Bartłomiej Koszarek.

In their performance, they will invite us over to their place, i.e. “Miyndzy chałupy.” As simple as that! After all, here, the rich Podhale culture flows from every corner, from every entrance hall and chamber in a lively, everyday stream in the form of costumes, music, dance, dialect, architecture, handicraft…

And if you’re expecting the above-mentioned dances of krzesany and zbójnicki, then... you won’t be disappointed! And there will also be wiyrchowe mountain peak songs. There will be play, fun and games, counting rhymes...
