Logically, a border separates. That is its main point. However, it is a proven paradox that a border, or borderland, can also connect. It is thus a meeting point of the separated, and borders, especially between regions, are not very tight. The things on one side begin to mingle with those on the other side, giving rise to some new values. And what if it is a double border? Then we may find that the value of such a connection should be multiplied by four.
Mystków – the home village of the Mali Mystkowianie ensemble - is located on the borderline between the Lach and Podgórze cultures, but there are also some Lemko elements here. No wonder then that forty-one years ago Hanna and Benedykt Poręba decided to show the extraordinary wealth resulting from the meeting of so many cultural influences to Poland and other European countries, and thanks to the FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS (this year the ensemble is acting as the Festival host for the fourth time) to the whole world as well. Those were the the beginnings of the folk ensemble in Mystków.

They will be dancing and singing the things dearest to their hearts, but above all they will be having fun. Here, another boundary will appear - the one between the worlds of boys and girls. As we shall see, this border allows some mingling as well...
