The concert that has always been performed by the Children of Mountains is now dedicated to them. And so we cordially invite all who in the previous years have performed as folk ensemble members at the Festival. Come wearing your folk costumes. Before the concert, we want to gather you all in front of the Amphitheatre so that we can take a photo together as a memento of this special edition. Let us prove it to ourselves and the world: “the corona won’t beat us!”
Since the Children of Mountains also include our beloved audience, we want everyone to have a good time. And so we have prepared an interactive family performance during which the actors will be inviting the audience to get in on the act.
Personalities connected with our festival will act as protagonists of the musical concerts. Joszko Broda is a son of Józef Broda, the concert director and host. As he puts it, he was raised in the lap of outstanding musicians cooperating with his father, and now he passes the baton, carrying out his own artistic projects. One of these is “Children with Mr Broda,” who will vigorously and gracefully perform at the concert.
This year the Festival team will be joined by Krzysztof Trebunia-Tutka in the capacity of the concert co-host; he too can be held up as a paragon of intergenerational transmission of tradition and family music playing. Those who have at least once seen the Trebunia-Tutka family in concert, know what it is all about. Those who have not, you are welcome to come and attend the finale of the Festival of the Children of Mountains.
But the attractions don’t just end there. Short performances by traditional folk music bands will add flavour to the entirety of the concert. “Piątkowioki” will play in the Lach style, “Jutrzenka” Highland Band will spin Podhale melodies, and both of them will be encouraging the audience to sing the Festival song, which we want to record at the end of the concert. May it spread out into the world and make everyone remember that: “Hey, Nowy Sącz, this town is the children’s domain When the Children of Mountains dance, sing and play, there’s no end to the sun’s reign.”
