PROSVJETA - Bośnia i Hercegowina

Bosnia and Herzegowina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state in southern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. Bordered by Croatia to the north, west and south, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast, Bosnia and Herzegovina is almost landlocked, except for 26 kilometres of the Adriatic Sea coastline. The interior of the country is mountainous centrally and to the south, hilly in the northwest, and flatland in the northeast.  The inland is the larger geographic region with a moderate continental climate, marked by hot summers and cold, snowy winters. The southern tip of the country has a Mediterranean climate and plane topography.
The country is home to three ethnic groups: Bosniaks are the largest group of the three, with Serbs second and Croats third.

The ensemble comes from the town of Novo Goražde in the region of Istočna Bosna.
At the Festival it is going to present a programme composed of national games and songs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Serbia. The band will be playing such instruments as the accordion, frula (a kind of flute), double bass and the acoustic rhythm guitar.

Blagoje Cerovič is the ensemble manager and choreographer. Dragan Cerovič is the music manager.
